New Prague (4 - 0) and Sartell - St. Stephen (4 - 0) stand out in Class 4A. These teams have shown exceptional skill and determination, winning their first four games without a single loss. Their performances have been a testament to their hard work and teamwork.
However, it's not just these two teams that are causing a stir. Austin (4 - 0), Mahtomedi (2 - 0), Marshall (6 - 0), Monticello (4 - 0), and Rock Ridge (4 - 0) have also been performing at a high level. Each team has its own unique style and strategy, making for an exciting competition in Class 4A.
Providence Academy, led by junior standout Maddyn Greenway, has climbed to the top spot in Class 2A. The Lions have been on a winning streak, beating four Class 4A schools along the way. Their victory over No. 2 Maple Grove, with Greenway's three - point shooting leading a dramatic comeback from a nine - point deficit in the second half, was a highlight of the season.
Greenway's skills and leadership have been crucial to Providence Academy's success. Her ability to make big shots and inspire her teammates has made her a force to be reckoned with. As the season continues, it will be interesting to see how far the Lions can go.
No. 5 Hopkins suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Eastview 68 - 61. This was a tough blow for the team, as they had been performing well up until this point. The absence of 5 - 9 senior guard Tatum Woodson, their floor leader, has been a significant challenge for Hopkins.
Woodson's injury has forced the team to adjust their game plan and find new ways to succeed. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back from this setback and continue to compete at a high level.
