2025 Spring Tennis Schedule Revealed by West Virginia U Athletics

West Virginia University's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has recently announced the highly anticipated 2025 spring tennis schedule. This marks an exciting new chapter for the program as they look to build on past successes and continue to grow.

Starting Strong at Home
The 2025 spring schedule kicks off with a doubleheader at home against Duquesne and Morgan State on Saturday, Jan. 18, at Summit Tennis Academy. This provides a great opportunity for the Mountaineers to showcase their skills in front of their home crowd. It's a chance to set the tone for the season and build momentum.The following week, West Virginia will hit the road to face Xavier on Saturday, Jan. 25, and Michigan State on Sunday, Jan. 26, in East Lansing, Michigan. These away matches will test the team's ability to perform on different courts and against different opponents.Road Trips and Conferences
The Mountaineers continue their road swing with a match against VCU in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, Feb. 1, and a match against William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., on Sunday, Feb. 2. These away games will give the team valuable experience and help them prepare for the challenges ahead.When they return home, a home doubleheader against Cleveland State and Mount St. Mary’s on Feb. 8 begins a three-week home stand. This allows the team to focus on their home court advantage and build a strong fan base.To begin Big 12 Conference play, the Mountaineers will travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to face the TCU Horned Frogs on Feb. 28, before facing Baylor on March 2, in Waco, Texas. These conference matches will be crucial in determining the team's standing in the league.West Virginia's first home conference matches will be against Oklahoma State (March 7) and Kansas State (March 9). Oklahoma State was the No. 1 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, advancing to the third round before losing to Tennessee. This will be a tough test for the Mountaineers, but they are ready to rise to the occasion.The team will then travel to Arizona to face conference newcomers, Arizona State (March 14) in Tempe, Arizona, and Arizona (March 16) in Tucson, Ariz. These away matches will expose the team to different playing styles and environments.West Virginia will return home to welcome another conference newcomer, Utah, on March 20. The Mountaineers will then battle BYU on Saturday, March 22. These home matches will give the team a chance to build on their recent performances and continue to improve.Final Stretch and Championships
WVU will travel to Houston to face the Cougars on March 28 before it faces UCF in Orlando, Florida, on March 30. The final non-conference match will be against in-state rival Marshall on Sunday, Feb. 23. These matches will add to the team's experience and prepare them for the postseason.A final road trip to Cincinnati to face the Bearcats will wrap up the 2025 regular season on April 12. The 2025 Big 12 Tennis Championship is slated for April 16-20, at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
