Now, she's back at the historic Aqueduct Racetrack for Saturday's Grade 3, $200,000 Go for Wand, a one-mile test for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.

Tizzy in the Sky's Historic Return to Aqueduct

Tizzy in the Sky's Past Performances

Tizzy in the Sky has a remarkable track record. In April, she was a pacesetting nine-length winner of the nine-furlong Listed Top Flight Invitational here at Aqueduct. It was her first stakes score in her fifth attempt, including a second in last year's Go for Wand over muddy and sealed footing. She boasts a 7: 4-2-0 record over the local main track, with two additional nine-plus lengths romps in the allowance ranks along with a 5 3/4-length maiden score. This shows her consistency and ability to perform well on this track. Her last race was a 6th place finish in the 2024 Ogden Phipps G1 on June 8 at Saratoga Race Course. There, she broke through the gate and stalked the pace before weakening in the six-horse field that featured some tough competitors. But she seems to be in good form now, as her past couple of works have been very good. She is a generously training filly and loves to go out there and gallop.

Trainer's Perspective

Trainer Todd Pletcher's New York-assistant Stu Hampson is confident about Tizzy in the Sky's chances. He said, "She is doing great. She is a generously training filly, probably one where we'd love to have another work or two, but her past couple works have been very good. She is a generous horse galloping out all the time, and her gallop-outs lately have been especially good." This shows the trust and belief that the trainer has in his horse.

Jockey's Role

Jockey Flavien Prat will be on board for Tizzy in the Sky. His experience and skill will be crucial in the race. He knows how to handle the horse and bring out the best in her. With his expertise, Tizzy in the Sky has a good chance of performing well in the Grade 3 Go for Wand.

Opponents and Their Chances

Alpha Delta Stables' Occult, starting from post 3 with Irad Ortiz, Jr., enters from a 6 1/2-length runner-up finish in the nine-furlong Spinster (G1) on Oct. 6 at Keeneland. She is a 4-year-old Into Mischief dark bay and only boosted her reputation in that defeat to reigning champion older dirt female Idiomatic.Occult was third at the Grade 1 level in last year's Cotillion at Parx Racing and the Acorn at Belmont Park. She pursues her first trip to the winner's circle since a 10 1/4-length score in the Monmouth Oaks (G3) last July at its namesake oval.A $625,000 purchase at the Keeneland September yearling sale, Occult, out of the graded stakes-winning Empire Maker mare Magical Feeling, is a half-sister to dual stakes-winner Exulting and Grade 1-placed Imagination.Brown will also saddle Peter Brant's Shidabhuti, starting from post 8 with jockey Dylan Davis. She comes off a closing two-length victory in a seven-furlong October optional-claimer at Keeneland. The 4-year-old Practical Joke bay made her prior four efforts in graded company, including a rallying win in the seven-furlong Distaff (G3) on April 6 here.Shidabhuti was subsequently a well-beaten third in the Ruffian (G2) at the Big A going a one-turn mile before a fourth in the Bed o’ Roses and fifth in the Ballerina Handicap (G1) at the Spa.Godolphin's Kentucky homebred Comparative, starting from post 5 with jockey Manny Franco, is 2-for-3 at the Big A for dual Eclipse Award-winner Brad Cox. She entered from a seven-month layoff dating to a fourth to Tizzy in the Sky in the Top Flight, which followed a seventh in the Azeri (G2) on March 9 at Oaklawn Park. Her pair of off-the-board results were disappointing compared to her previous three-race win streak. Out of the Bernardini mare Collective, Comparative, a full sister to dual graded stakes-winner Shared Sense, boasts a lifetime record of 13: 5-0-3 with $429,995 in earnings. Each of these horses brings their own strengths and challenges to the race, making it an exciting competition. Tizzy in the Sky will have to perform at her best to come out on top.
