Atlanta could choose to bring in a lower-tier free agent to fill some innings early in the year. This would provide some stability and depth. Then, by inking Bieber, they could create an electric rotation for the second half of the season. Bieber not only adds to the rotation but also offers long-term insurance in case any of their core arms get injured. If they don't plan to re-sign Max Fried or another top starter, Bieber presents the upside they are seeking.It's a calculated risk to rely on two arms coming off Tommy John Surgery, but the Braves have a history of maximizing the potential of veterans. Just look at their trade for a 35-year-old pitcher who had an outstanding first year with them! They believe they can do the same with Bieber.

The Detroit Tigers' Pitching Situation
Intra-division signings involving star names are always a source of excitement, and the Detroit Tigers are no exception. Led by AL Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal and an excellent bullpen, the Tigers' pitching exceeded expectations last year. However, only two starters other than Skubal made at least 20 starts, and the pitcher with the fourth most starts, Jack Flaherty, is no longer with the team.Reese Olson, with a sneaky 3.53 ERA across 22 starts, has a rotation spot locked down. But the other three spots are up for grabs and need to be solidified.
The Tigers have a great opportunity to build on their success from the 2024 postseason run. Adding the right pitchers could make them a serious contender in the division and beyond.
