In a significant announcement for the upcoming tennis season, TCU's men's team and Oklahoma State's women's team have been voted as the top contenders by conference coaches in the 2025 Big 12 Tennis Preseason Polls. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams. The men's poll featured nine teams, with TCU securing seven first-place votes and 63 points, followed by Arizona and Baylor. On the women's side, Oklahoma State was unanimously chosen as the favorite with 15 first-place votes and 225 points, leading a field of 16 programs.

Men's Tennis: Horned Frogs Set to Defend Title

The TCU men’s tennis team is poised to defend its recent NCAA Division I championship title. With seven first-place votes and a total of 63 points, the Horned Frogs are expected to dominate the Big 12 once again. Arizona, making its debut in the conference, secured two first-place votes and 57 points, while Baylor rounded out the top three with 47 points. Other notable entries include Arizona State, Oklahoma State, UCF, Texas Tech, BYU, and Utah.

Following an unprecedented victory in the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship, the Horned Frogs have set high expectations for the upcoming season. Their impressive performance has earned them the top spot in the preseason polls. Arizona, a newcomer to the conference, shows strong potential with its second-place ranking. Baylor, known for its consistent performances, rounds out the top three. The remaining teams—Arizona State, Oklahoma State, UCF, Texas Tech, BYU, and Utah—are eager to prove themselves against these formidable opponents. Women's Tennis: Cowgirls Unanimously Chosen as Favorites

Oklahoma State’s women’s tennis team has been unanimously selected as the favorite to win the Big 12 Conference, garnering 15 first-place votes and 225 points. This selection comes after the Cowgirls finished the 2024 regular season undefeated and claimed both the Conference Championship and regular season title. Baylor follows closely with 192 points, while UCF recorded 189 points. Arizona State, in its debut season, received one first-place vote and 184 points.

The unanimous choice of Oklahoma State reflects the Cowgirls' exceptional performance in the previous season. They ended the year without a single loss, clinching both the Conference Championship and the regular season title. Baylor, a perennial contender, secured second place with 192 points, demonstrating its strength. UCF, with 189 points, and Arizona State, in its inaugural Big 12 season, round out the top four. The remaining teams—Texas Tech, BYU, TCU, Kansas, Arizona, Kansas State, Iowa State, Colorado, Houston, Utah, West Virginia, and Cincinnati—are all vying for higher rankings. The women’s league play begins on February 27, promising thrilling matches from the outset.
