Her shooting accuracy from the free-throw line was exceptional, maintaining an 83% success rate throughout the season. Ervans will continue her basketball journey at Spring Arbor University.
On the other side of the court, Ava Mallar's prowess was instrumental in Pittsford's dominance. Under the guidance of returning coach Chris Hodos, Mallar led the Wildcats to their fourth consecutive SCAA East championship and a flawless regular season. She excelled in crucial moments, scoring 27 points in a non-conference showdown against Reading. Mallar's season average of 18 points and 5.4 steals per game underscored her versatility and effectiveness. With a career tally exceeding 1,600 points, Mallar set new benchmarks for Pittsford, including a single-game record of 46 points. She will further develop her skills at Grand Valley State.
Alexis Trine of Jonesville emerged as another formidable player, earning Division 3 all-state honorable mention accolades. As a senior captain, Trine spearheaded her team's second straight district title, contributing significantly to their regional semifinal appearance. Her final year saw her average 13.44 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, securing Cascades second-team all-conference honors. Trine's accomplishments extend beyond this season, having been named the overall winter sports athlete of the year in 2022-23. She plans to join Albion College next, continuing her athletic pursuits.
