Eastern Kentucky University is all set to host a series of prominent baseball teams in its 2025 non-conference schedule. The Colonels are gearing up for an exciting season filled with home-and-home matchups and challenging road trips. Unveiling EKU's 2025 Baseball Schedule - A Season of Baseball Excellence
Hosting the Big Guns
The 2025 schedule kicks off with Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Marshall, and Morehead State making their way to EKU. The home-and-home series with Kentucky on March 4 and 5 in Richmond sets the tone. Marshall will visit Earle Combs Stadium on March 18, followed by WKU on March 19. Northern Kentucky and Morehead State will play back-to-back nights in April. This gives EKU a chance to showcase their skills against some of the best in the region.
Of the 26 non-conference games, 14 are against teams that finished.500 or better in 2024. The team will face 11 opponents who won 30 or more games last season and five teams that earned spots in NCAA Regionals. This shows the tough competition EKU will face and the level of excellence they need to strive for.
The season begins with four games in Mobile, Alabama, where EKU will face Kent State on Feb. 14 and Southern Illinois Edwardsville on Feb. 15. They will then close out the event with two games against host South Alabama on Feb. 16 and 17. After that, it's off to Ole Miss for three games from Feb. 21 to 23.
Midweek Matchups and Road Trips
The first meeting of the season with WKU is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Bowling Green. EKU will also play Mississippi Valley State on Feb. 28 and March 1 in Carrollton, Georgia, at the home of Atlantic Sun Conference newcomer West Georgia. Following the home-and-home series with UK, Rhode Island will come to town for a 3-game series from March 7 to 9.
The Colonels will play at Vanderbilt on March 25 and at Marshall on April 1. Dayton will make a trip to Richmond for a game on April 22, and EKU will play at Louisville on April 29. The final non-conference game of the regular season is at home against Miami (Ohio) on May 6.
ASUN Conference Action
The ASUN Conference schedule was released in November. EKU will host 3-game series with North Alabama, Lipscomb, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, and Bellarmine. They will also play a 3-game series against each of these teams on the road. This season, the ASUN is split into two divisions. EKU joins North Alabama, Lipscomb, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, and Bellarmine in the Northwest Division, while the Southeast Division will comprise Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, North Florida, Queens, Stetson, and West Georgia.
With a busy schedule ahead, the EKU baseball team is ready to take on the challenges and showcase their talent. It's going to be a season filled with excitement and competition.
