Extended Weekend Hours Offered for Property Tax Payments in Clarksville and Montgomery County
2025-01-31

In response to the upcoming property tax deadlines, both the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County have announced extended weekend hours throughout February. Residents now have additional options to settle their real and personal property taxes by the end of the month. The Finance and Revenue Department of Clarksville will open its doors on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., starting this Saturday, while Montgomery County's Trustee’s Office will also provide services during these extended hours. This initiative aims to facilitate easier access for taxpayers, particularly those who may find it challenging to visit offices during regular business days.

The City of Clarksville has introduced special measures to assist residents with their property tax obligations. For the entire month of February, citizens can visit the Finance and Revenue Department on Saturdays between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. These extended hours begin this Saturday, Feb. 1. However, it is important to note that no Department of Motor Vehicle services will be available during these weekend hours. Property tax bills were dispatched in September, and the payment deadline is set for Feb. 28. Individuals can visit the Revenue Office located on the first floor of City Hall or opt for the North Clarksville City Service Center for alternative service locations. Moreover, those preferring not to visit in person can conveniently pay their property taxes online via the official city website.

Montgomery County has similarly adjusted its operational schedule to accommodate taxpayer needs. The Trustee’s Office will remain open each Saturday in February from 8:30 a.m. to noon. During these extended hours, all standard services offered by the Trustee’s Office will be available, including assistance with the new reimbursement wheel tax for eligible senior citizens aged 65 and older. Trustee Kimberly Wiggins emphasized the importance of providing such extended services, highlighting the office's commitment to supporting elderly taxpayers with tax relief and tax freeze paperwork. Located at Veterans Plaza, Suite 101-B, the Trustee’s Office encourages residents to explore all available services through their official website for more information.

To enhance convenience and accessibility, both local government entities are taking proactive steps to ensure residents can meet their financial obligations without undue stress. By offering extended weekend hours, they aim to create a smoother process for paying property taxes, thereby fostering better community engagement and support. Additionally, residents have multiple options for making payments, whether in person or online, ensuring flexibility and ease of access.
