Geoff Lewis was born in Talgarth near Brecon. During the 1960s and 70s, he emerged as a leading jockey on the flat. He achieved great feats, winning five Classics and the prestigious Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in 1971 on Mill Reef. His skills and determination on the track were truly remarkable. He rode Mill Reef to victory at the 1971 Derby, a moment that will forever be etched in the history of horse racing. His success on the flat was a testament to his talent and hard work.
