Smith Vilbert, a standout athlete from St. Joseph High School, is set to make history as the first seventh-year player on Penn State's football team. After sustaining injuries that sidelined him for most of the 2023 season and all but one game in the prior year, he successfully appealed to the NCAA for an additional year of eligibility.
