A significant milestone was reached for Iowa basketball as they secured their first high school commitment under Coach Ben McCollum. Trevin Jirak, previously signed with Northern Iowa (UNI), has pledged his allegiance to the Hawkeyes. Standing at 6-foot-10, Jirak is a formidable presence on the court and played a pivotal role in Valley High School's three consecutive state championships from 2023 through 2025. His standout performance in this year’s championship game, where he scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against Waukee Northwest, highlights his crucial contributions.
