In a Sunday showdown, Jackson State faced off against the Iowa State men's basketball team. Entering the contest without a win and with most of their regular starters sidelined, the Tigers were in for a tough challenge. Iowa State, on the other hand, showed no mercy and dominated from start to finish.Coach's Perspective
Cyclones coach T.J. Otzelberger acknowledged that while the team had played four high-magnitude games, there was still room for improvement. "We want to make sure we respect every opponent and give our best in every game. There were things we could have done better, like finishing plays on the glass and contesting shots. But overall, we were pleased with our ball movement and transition play," he said.
The Cyclones raced out to a 22-6 lead in the first nine minutes and maintained their dominance throughout the game. They were unrelenting on both ends of the court, making it difficult for the Tigers to get back into the game.
Player Performances
Curtis Jones came off the bench and led all Cyclone scorers with 19 points. He was 5-of-10 from the three-point line and dished out five assists. Four other players also scored in double figures, showing the team's depth.

Tamin Lipsey had five points on 2-of-4 shooting but racked up nine assists with no turnovers.
Halftime Advantage
Iowa State led 46-24 at halftime and extended their lead to as many as 42 points. "With our team, balance is key. There are a lot of guys who can score, and seeing them make shots gives them confidence. That's always a positive thing," Otzelberger said.
Dorian McMillan led Jackson State with 20 points. Juan Reyna III had 15 points, five boards and six assists.
