In a recent game, junior Justice Mims scored a career-high 22 points for the Hope College team. However, a late rally by the Flying Dutchmen fell short as they lost to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater by a narrow margin. Hope had pulled as close as five points in the final minute after trailing by as many as 18 points in the second half. Whitewater's strong performance at the foul line, scoring 10 of its final 17 points over the last 3 1/2 minutes, proved decisive. As a result, Hope dropped to 3-4 on the season.Mims, a 6-2 guard from Rochester Hills, Michigan / Rochester Adams HS, shot an impressive 75% from the field (8-12), including 66.7% from the 3-point range (4-6). He scored 19 points after halftime and his four 3-pointers after the break accounted for half of Hope's deep shots.Three other Flying Dutchmen also had significant contributions. Senior center Gabe Quillan (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central), senior guard Josh Dekcer (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio / Woodrdge), and sophomore forward Parker Hovey (Shelby, Michigan / Hart) each scored 14 points. It was a season-high for Hovey.Whitewater, on the other hand, shot 52.8% from the field and had a plus-seven advantage from points at the foul line. Guard Jameer Barker led the Warhawks with 27 points, while guards Luke Bara and Collin Madison added 16 and 15 points respectively.
