Whitewater's strong performance at the foul line, scoring 10 of its final 17 points over the last 3 1/2 minutes, proved decisive. He scored 19 points after halftime and his four 3-pointers after the break accounted for half of Hope's deep shots.Three other Flying Dutchmen also had significant contributions. Senior center Gabe Quillan (Ada, Michigan / Grand Rapids Catholic Central), senior guard Josh Dekcer (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio / Woodrdge), and sophomore forward Parker Hovey (Shelby, Michigan / Hart) each scored 14 points. It was a season-high for Hovey.Whitewater, on the other hand, shot 52.8% from the field and had a plus-seven advantage from points at the foul line. Guard Jameer Barker led the Warhawks with 27 points, while guards Luke Bara and Collin Madison added 16 and 15 points respectively.
