Winter has arrived, bringing with it a fresh slate of athletic endeavors. After a season that saw most teams miss out on postseason play, basketball in Lebanon County is set to look different this time around. As each team in the area gets into divisional action this week, let's take a closer look at each team's upcoming campaign and what we can expect.

Girls Basketball: A Season of Rebound and Control

In the 2023-24 season, the Lebanon girls' basketball team achieved a remarkable 24-5 record with a first-place finish in Section 1. Led by senior guard Kailah Correia, who averaged 19 points per game, the team showed great dominance. Alongside her, Olive Brandt (Jr.), Liliana Harrison (Sr.), Jae Burrus (Sr.), Tayana Camuy (So.), Skyler Strickler (So.), and Jezauni Hernandez (Jr.) are key returnees. They will play crucial roles as the team looks to build on their success. However, they also faced some key losses with Zariyah Whigham and Dora Lopez. In the upcoming Section 1 contests, which include games against J.P. McCaskey (Away on 12/13/24), Penn Manor (Away on 12/17/24), Cedar Crest (Home on 12/19/24), Hempfield (Home on 1/8/25), Manheim Township (Away on 1/10/25), J.P. McCaskey (Home on 1/13/25), Penn Manor (Home on 1/16/25), Cedar Crest (Away on 1/24/25), Hempfield (Away on 1/30/25), and Manheim Township (Home on 2/4/25), the girls will aim to continue their winning streak and control the paint with the help of senior Liliana Harrison and the rest of the team.

Boys Basketball: A Journey to Redemption

The 2023-24 season was a tough one for the Lebanon boys' basketball team, with a 0-22 record and a 0-10 mark in Section 1. But there is hope for the future as key returnees like Ben DiScuillo (Sr.), Daryan Rodriquez (Jr.), Robert Santiago (Sr.), Emmanuel Suarez (Sr.), Jaydyn Wolf (Sr.), and Alec Wolf (So.) are back. They will look to make a comeback and leave their mark on the court. Despite losing some key players such as Malachi Briddell, Juan Torres, Braylon Beaver, Riquelme Estevez, and Colby Robb, the boys are determined to turn things around. In the Section 1 contests, including games against J.P. McCaskey (Home on 12/13/24), Penn Manor (Home on 12/17/24), Cedar Crest (Home on 12/20/24), Hempfield (Away on 1/8/25), Manheim Township (Home on 1/10/25), J.P.
