The LSU baseball team is making waves as five of its players have been named to the prestigious Perfect Game Baseball Top 100 Juniors for the 2025 season. These talented athletes, each with their unique strengths and achievements, are poised to lead the Tigers to greater heights. Among the selected players are Chase Shores, Daniel Dickinson, Conner Ware, Jacob Mayers, and Anthony Eyanson. This recognition highlights LSU's commitment to developing top-tier talent and showcases the potential these juniors bring to the field.
Chase Shores, a right-handed pitcher from Midland, Texas, has made an impressive comeback after recovering from Tommy John surgery. His resilience and determination have earned him the No. 20 spot on the list. Despite missing the majority of last season due to injury, Shores demonstrated remarkable skill during his appearances in 2023, contributing significantly to LSU's National Championship campaign.
Shores' journey back to the mound has been nothing short of inspiring. In 2023, he appeared in seven games, starting four of them, before being sidelined by an elbow injury. During this period, he posted an ERA of 0.96 over 18.1 innings, striking out 15 batters while walking only nine. Opposing hitters managed just a .231 batting average against him. Now fully recovered, Shores is set to return in 2025, bringing his formidable presence back to the LSU pitching rotation. His recovery and return underscore his dedication and the high level of competition he brings to the team.
Beyond Shores, LSU boasts a roster filled with exceptional talent. Daniel Dickinson, an infielder who transferred from Utah Valley, has quickly become a standout player. Dickinson's offensive prowess and defensive reliability have earned him the No. 34 spot on the list. Similarly, left-handed pitcher Conner Ware, who joined LSU from Pearl River Community College, has shown promise with his control and strikeout ability, landing at No. 60.
Dickinson's career at UVU saw him achieve a stellar .369 batting average, hitting 27 home runs and driving in 95 RBIs over two seasons. His performance in 2024 was equally impressive, earning him First-Team All-WAC honors. He hit .363 with 18 home runs and 53 RBIs, adding 32 stolen bases to his resume. Meanwhile, Ware's transition to LSU has been seamless. At PRCC, he recorded two saves with a 1.80 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 15 innings. As a freshman in 2023, he maintained a 3-0 record with a 1.59 ERA and 28 strikeouts over 17 innings. The combination of Dickinson's power hitting and Ware's pitching acumen makes them indispensable assets to the LSU lineup.
