Hailing from Madisonville, Louisiana, Anderson demonstrated impressive performance with an 18-appearance record, including nine starts, and achieved a commendable 4-2 win-loss ratio alongside 59 strikeouts in just over 38 innings. His postseason performances were particularly noteworthy, as he contributed significantly to LSU’s victories with six strikeouts in two crucial NCAA Regional games.

Infielder Steven Milam, originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, also stands out among the honored sophomores. Milam’s freshman year was marked by his stellar batting average of .326, complemented by 12 doubles, three triples, eight home runs, and 40 RBIs. His contributions were even more pronounced in postseason play, where he led LSU’s hitting efforts with a .386 average, delivering decisive hits that secured important wins for the team. Outfielder Jake Brown, hailing from Sulphur, Louisiana, showcased versatility both at bat and on the mound. With a batting average of .264 and four home runs, Brown’s key performances included a solo homer in the championship game of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, underlining his value to the team. Meanwhile, outfielder Ashton Larson, from Overland Park, Kansas, earned Freshman All-SEC accolades for his consistent hitting, especially in SEC regular-season games, where he batted .337 with eight doubles and three home runs. Lastly, right-handed pitcher Deven Sheerin, despite facing injury challenges this season, brings an impressive track record from Mount St. Mary’s, having led the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in strikeouts and earning Rookie of the Year honors.
