Baseball Schedule Highlights
The Aggies' baseball season kicks off with a four-game series against St. Thomas from February 14th to 17th. The opening game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on February 14th. This is followed by a home series against Western Illinois from February 21st to 23rd. One of the most anticipated matchups is the first of three rivalries with New Mexico on February 25th in Albuquerque. The Aggies will also face the Lobos in Las Cruces on April 1st and travel to Albuquerque again on April 22nd. Other notable non-conference opponents include a three-game road series against Texas A&M from March 7th to 9th, two road games against Arizona on April 8th and April 29th, and a road contest with Texas Tech on May 6th. NM State's two other home series in non-conference play include Oakland from February 28th to March 3rd and Portland from March 14th to 16th.The Aggies begin Conference USA play on the road at Liberty from March 21st to 23rd, with their first CUSA home series coming against Dallas Baptist from March 28th to April 1st. They continue CUSA play away from home against Sam Houston, Florida International, Kennesaw State, and Louisiana Tech, and in Las Cruces against Jacksonville State, Middle Tennessee, and Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers serve as their final home series of the season from May 9th to 11th. The Aggies end CUSA play against LA Tech from May 15th to 17th before traveling to Lynchburg, Va. for the CUSA Tournament, hosted by Liberty from May 21st to 25th if they qualify.Softball Schedule Highlights
The Aggies' softball non-conference tilt is filled with tournaments. The season begins by hosting the NM State Invitational from February 7th to 9th against UC Santa Barbara, Colorado State, and Kansas City. Then, they host the Troy Cox Classic from February 14th to 17th against Northern Colorado, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nebraska, and Montana.The Aggies then travel to play in two more tournaments - the ASU/GCU Classic in Phoenix from February 21st to 23rd against Portland State, Iowa State, California Baptist, and Florida, and the Longhorn Invitational in Austin from February 28th to March 2nd against South Florida, Abilene Christian, Texas, and Alabama A&M. They only play three non-conference games outside of a tournament, at home against rival UNM on March 11th and a road doubleheader against Arizona on April 22nd.The Aggies begin CUSA play with a road series against LA Tech from March 7th to 9th, with their first home CUSA series coming against JSU from March 14th to 16th. Their remaining road CUSA series are FIU, UTEP, WKU, and Kennesaw State, with the ones at home being Sam Houston, Liberty, and MTSU.The Aggies' final home series is against MTSU from April 25th to 27th and they close out the regular season against Kennesaw State from May 2nd to 4th. If NM State qualifies, the CUSA Tournament will be played from May 7th to 10th, hosted by WKU in Bowling Green, Ky.The Aggies baseball enters their second year under coach Jake Angier after going 25-29 and 0-2 in the CUSA Tournament. NM State softball has been coached by Kathy Rodolph since 2003, finishing 30-25 with a loss in the final game of the loser's bracket in the CUSA Tournament last season.
