The Niagara University tennis teams are set to embark on an exciting spring 2025 season, featuring a mix of challenging non-conference matches and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) competitions. The women's team will kick off their season with an away match at Cornell University on January 24. Following this, they will face Buffalo and Penn State in early-season road games before hosting Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) for their home opener on February 2. This series of matches promises to test the team's resilience and adaptability from the very start.
Meanwhile, the men's team will begin their campaign on January 25 with a visit to Binghamton University. February will be particularly demanding, as they take on tough opponents like St. John’s, Le Moyne, and participate in a doubleheader in Youngstown, Ohio, facing Youngstown State and UIC on February 15. Both teams will also travel to Orlando, Florida during spring break in mid-March for a series of matches that will further hone their skills against diverse competition. The women will play against NC Central, Creighton, West Chester, and Lynn, while the men will compete against North Dakota, NC Central, West Chester, and St. Thomas Aquinas.
As the season progresses, both teams will dive into MAAC play starting on February 28 when they host Quinnipiac. Other conference matchups include Merrimack, Mount St. Mary’s, Fairfield, Marist, Sacred Heart, Siena, and Rider. All home matches will be held at the Village Glenn Tennis Club in Williamsville, New York. This comprehensive schedule not only sets the stage for competitive play but also underscores the commitment of the Niagara University tennis programs to excellence and growth through rigorous competition.
