North Florida Men's Tennis Set for Exciting Weekend Homestand
2025-03-20

This weekend, the North Florida men’s tennis team embarks on a thrilling series of matches at the UNF Tennis Complex. Currently riding a three-match winning streak and having triumphed in both ASUN conference encounters, the Ospreys are primed to showcase their skills against Bellarmine, Rider, and Austin Peay. With standout performances from players like Andreas Scott and Chase Healey, this homestand could further solidify the team's position within the conference.

The action kicks off on Friday, March 21, with two back-to-back matches. At 10 a.m., UNF will take on Bellarmine, followed by a 2 p.m. showdown against Rider, which was rescheduled from an earlier date. Interestingly, the women's team will also compete against Rider simultaneously. On Sunday, March 23, the Ospreys wrap up the weekend by facing Austin Peay at 1 p.m. These fixtures come after junior Andreas Scott earned ASUN Player of the Week accolades following his impressive 3-0 performance last week.

Beyond this weekend, the Ospreys continue their homestand with upcoming matches against Florida Gulf Coast on April 4 and Stetson on April 6. The momentum from recent victories is expected to propel them forward as they aim to dominate the remaining fixtures.

In addition to Scott's achievements, sophomore Chase Healey has been a force to reckon with, leading all Ospreys in singles wins and maintaining a strong three-match winning streak. His contributions have been instrumental in bolstering the team's confidence and performance.

As the season progresses, fans can anticipate more exhilarating matchups that highlight the growing prowess of the North Florida men’s tennis team. With key players delivering consistently and challenging opponents lined up, the Ospreys look set to make significant strides in the ASUN conference standings.
