Ole Miss Women's Tennis Fall Season Highlights and Stats

The Ole Miss women's tennis team began the 2024-25 season with a resounding impact under the leadership of 24th-year head coach Mark Beyers. This fall, the Rebels achieved remarkable feats, both in singles and doubles competitions.

Fall Scene: A Season of Highlights

Three Rebels qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships, namely Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher, Ludmila Kareisová, and Lucie Petruzelova. Kareisová's victory over No. 35 Sophia Biolay stands out as her highest ranked win of the fall. Petruzelova not only secured 70 overall singles wins for her career but also had an outstanding performance. Brooklyn Olson earned her first collegiate win in singles against Vanderbilt's Sophia Webster.In doubles, Kareisová and Leclercq-Ficher advanced to the final four at the ITA Sectionals and ITA Southern Regional. Petruzelova and Kareisová reached the singles semifinals at the ITA Sectionals. Emma Kette made a significant mark by taking down No. 122 Talia Neilson of Florida at ITA Sectionals, achieving her first ranked victory of the season. Leclercq-Ficher also had a ranked victory over Georgia's No. 106 Sofia Rojas at ITA Sectionals. Kareisová reached a milestone with 40 career singles wins and 50 doubles wins at ITA Regionals and Sectionals. Kette notched her 20th career doubles win at the ITA Regionals. Andrea Nova began the season with her first win against Vanderbilt.

ITA Southern Regional: A Stellar Run

On the first day of the ITA Regionals, all three doubles teams advanced to the Sweet 16, and four singles players moved on to the round of 32. Ludmila Kareisová and Anaëlle Leclercq-Ficher, along with Rachel Krzyzak and Emma Kette, advanced to the quarterfinals. In singles, Kareisová, Kette, Leclercq-Ficher, and Kette continued the momentum and advanced to the Sweet 16 on the second day. Petruzelova's 70th overall career singles win earned her a spot in the Elite Eight, defeating an SEC competitor from Auburn. Leclercq-Ficher and Kareisová reached the Final Four for the first time in the fall, showcasing their exceptional skills.

ITA Sectionals: A Team Effort

Six Rebels represented Ole Miss at the ITA Sectionals. Leclercq-Ficher powered through her first match in straight sets and faced No. 106 Sofia Rojas of Georgia in the Sweet 16. Petruzelova forced a tiebreak and won in a third set to advance to the Elite Eight. The Charlotte transfer also won in straight sets to progress further. Kareisová achieved her 50th career doubles win and advanced to the final four with Leclercq-Ficher, marking their second appearance in the Final Four of an ITA event this fall. The duo defeated the Xavier pairing Elizabeth Pendergast and Emily Flowers 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) and qualified for the NCAA Individual Championship in both doubles and singles.

NCAA Individual Championship: A Tough Journey

Three Rebels headed to Waco, Texas, the most by an Ole Miss team since 1999. Leclercq-Ficher made her NCAA Tournament debut in singles and doubles, while Petruzelova qualified for singles. Kareisová had previously competed in the singles draw in 2022 and made her debut in doubles with Leclercq-Ficher. Unfortunately, the Rebels fell short in the first two days, concluding the fall season.
