The Quinnipiac Men’s Tennis team has excelled this season, securing four prestigious All-MAAC honors for the 2024-25 regular season. Graduate student Daniel Velek and first-year player Elias Hoxha have been recognized on the All-MAAC Singles First Team, while Finn Burridge and Carlos Braun Simo earned spots on the All-MAAC Second Team Singles. These achievements reflect their exceptional performance, contributing significantly to Quinnipiac's success.
Each of these athletes brought unique strengths to the court. Velek, a former MAAC Player of the Year, showcased his dominance by posting a strong 6-2 record in league matches at No. 1 singles. Meanwhile, Hoxha made an impressive debut, achieving perfection with an undefeated 8-0 record in MAAC singles play. Similarly, Burridge and Braun Simo each demonstrated consistency, both finishing with a 6-2 record in conference games. Together, they propelled Quinnipiac to its first outright MAAC regular-season title.
The Bobcats concluded the regular season with an overall record of 10-11 but remained unbeaten in MAAC competition, going 8-0. This stellar performance secured them the top seed heading into the upcoming MAAC Championship tournament. On April 26, Quinnipiac will advance directly to the semifinals, where they are set to face either Mount St. Mary’s or Niagara at 10:00 AM at Mercer County Tennis Park in West Windsor, N.J. Their journey exemplifies teamwork, dedication, and perseverance—qualities that inspire all who follow Quinnipiac athletics.
