Spring Game Returns for Ohio State Buckeyes
2025-04-11

This spring, the Ohio State Buckeyes are set to return to the field for their traditional spring game. Scheduled for April 12, this event marks the team's first appearance since securing the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship title. The university has decided to revert to the classic branding of the event rather than adopting a newer "spring showcase" moniker. Fans attending will need to adhere to specific stadium policies regarding what items they can and cannot bring inside Ohio Stadium.

The annual intrasquad scrimmage serves as an important milestone in the Buckeyes' preparation for the upcoming season. This year’s gathering takes place at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, where players and coaches will work diligently to refine strategies and skills. As part of the festivities, fans can enjoy a series of activities surrounding the game, including a Fan Fest starting at 9 a.m., followed by the opening of the team shop and gates at 10 a.m. The game itself kicks off at noon, allowing supporters ample time to immerse themselves in the atmosphere.

Security measures have been reinforced, with strict regulations governing what spectators may carry into the venue. Notably, all bags, except for small wallets or wristlets measuring no more than 5x8x1 inches, are prohibited. Exceptions exist for guests requiring medical, dietary, or childcare necessities, who may bring one bag approximately 14x14x4 inches but must undergo additional security checks. Prohibited items encompass alcohol, animals (except service dogs), audio/video recording equipment, banners, cameras with lenses exceeding 100mm, chairs, clothing with offensive language, containers, confetti, drones, firearms, fireworks, food/beverages, inflatables, laptops, laser pointers, markers, noisemaking devices, seat cushions with storage slots, sticks/poles, strollers, signs, sports equipment, televisions, weapons, and wrapped gifts.

In contrast, permitted items include binoculars without cases, blankets unrolled/unbagged, body-worn baby carriers, cameras with lenses up to 100mm, coats, mobility devices, rain apparel/ponchos, foam seat cushions without back supports/zippers/storage slots, small radios with headphones, and empty clear plastic water bottles. Umbrellas may be carried before and after the game but cannot be opened within seating areas.

With these guidelines in place, the Ohio State Buckeyes aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. As the team prepares for its next chapter, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing their favorite players in action once again, celebrating both the past triumphs and future ambitions of the program.
