Storm the Court's Journey - From the Racetrack to the Breeding Barn

Early Racing Days

After his debut victory at Del Mar during his 2-year-old season, Storm the Court showed great promise. However, his path to success was not always smooth. In the 2020 Kentucky Derby, he finished sixth, yet he continued to prove his mettle in graded stakes races. That 3-year-old season, he achieved remarkable feats, finishing third in the San Felipe (G2), third in the Ohio Derby (G3), second in the La Jolla Handicap (G3), and second in the Mathis Brothers Mile (G2). These performances demonstrated his versatility and talent on the track.

Breeding Potential Unleashed

Now, with his racing career behind him, Storm the Court is set to embark on a new chapter as a breeding stallion. Owned by SAF Racing, David Bernsen, Susanna Wilson, and Dan Hudock, and bred in Kentucky by Stepping Stone Farm, he is out of the Tejano Run mare My Tejana Storm. His breeding potential is highly regarded, with many in the industry eager to see what he can bring to the next generation of thoroughbreds. Standing at the Eclipse Thoroughbred Training Center in Santa Ynez, Calif., he holds the promise of creating future champions.

Last Race and Memorable Moments

In his most recent race, an allowance race at Del Mar on November 17, Storm the Court finished last. But it was his previous victory at Santa Anita five years ago that truly made an impact. During that race, trainer Peter Eurton was interviewed by his daughter Britney Eurton on NBC, and her gleeful celebration was captured and replayed on the national telecast. Since then, that video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times on YouTube, becoming an iconic moment in racing history.Storm the Court's story is one of both triumph and transition. As he moves into his new role as a breeding stallion, the racing community will be watching closely to see the legacy he leaves behind.
