Betrand played high school football at Northeast (Philadelphia) High School and still has three years of college eligibility remaining. He was a three-star recruit out of high school, ranked as the No. 55 offensive tackle and the No. 792 prospect in the Class of 2023. According to Pro Football Focus, he played in one game for the Crimson Tide last season, accumulating a total of 28 snaps at left tackle. However, he was removed from Alabama's roster in the middle of the season.
