Unlock the Power of Tennis in Personal and Professional Life

Tennis as the Foundation of Discipline

Natasha was introduced to tennis at the age of five by her father, who self-taught the sport through YouTube. By seven, she was training rigorously, committing five hours daily before and after school. This dedication not only led to her winning eight provincial titles and one national title but also instilled in her a sense of purpose, hard work, and structure. As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte and a part-time coach at 10XTO, she applies these lessons every day.Running, like tennis, has become an integral part of her life. It helps her clear her mind and visualize, just as her pre-match routine does. Last year, she completed two marathons, including a remarkable 3:27 finish at the Toronto Marathon, showing her perseverance and determination.

The Impact of Coaches and the Tennis Community

Natasha emphasizes the transformative impact of her coaches and the tennis community. They provided her with the chance to compete at a high level, which might not have been possible otherwise. Her coaches' belief in her and mentorship extended far beyond the court, shaping her life in profound ways.During her time at Boston College, she balanced intense practice with a full academic load. As a two-time team captain, she learned to lead with purpose and support her teammates through the pressures of collegiate athletics. Helping the team qualify for the NCAA tournament for the first time in over 22 years was one of her proudest moments, highlighting the sense of community and teamwork in tennis.

Tennis as a Path to Career Success

After graduating, Natasha pursued a career in management consulting at Deloitte. Here, she has had the opportunity to work in various fields, including sports, and is constantly challenged to grow. The community at Deloitte mirrors her tennis environment, with mentors, coaches, and peers surrounding her. Each project is an opportunity to make an impact, just like each tournament was a chance to perform.Tennis has given Natasha the skills and education to succeed in her career. She now uses these to make a difference in organizations, showing how the values learned on the tennis court translate into the professional world.

Gratitude and the Power of Sports

Natasha is deeply grateful to her parents, coaches, mentors, and the tennis community. They have helped her break down barriers and achieve victories, big and small. Growing up, she saw the contrast between her father's life as a truck driver and her own life at the tennis club, which gave her a deep understanding of the privilege she had.Today, she stays connected to tennis through coaching at 10XTO, sharing her love and knowledge with players of all ages. Tennis has shaped her outlook on life, instilling discipline, confidence, and a sense of community that continue to guide her. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, Tennis Canada is able to create opportunities for girls like Natasha to chase their dreams.
