Originally set to host the Tarleton State Texans on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, Tarleton was reassigned a conference home game against Austin Peay on the same date. This led to a change, and now the Aggies will welcome the Samford Bulldogs of the Southern Conference on Nov. 22, 2025 at Kyle Field. This marks the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the football field.

Announcement in Conjunction with SEC Schedule

The matchup with Samford was announced concurrently with the release of Texas A&M's complete SEC football schedule for the 2025 season. The Aggies will kick off the season with back-to-back home games against UTSA on Aug. 30 and Utah State on Sept. 6. Then, they'll travel to face Notre Dame on Sept. 13. After an open date, the 2025 SEC schedule begins at home against the Auburn Tigers on Sept. 27.
