The 2025 Dallas Open is scheduled to take place from Feb. 1-9. This year, it is making a significant upgrade, moving from an ATP 250-level tournament to an ATP 500-level tournament, with a prize pool of over $2.8 million. It was formerly known as the New York Open and is the only ATP Tour indoor championship in the US and one of the longest-running American tennis tournaments.
Since 2022, the Dallas Open has been hosted at SMU’s Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex. However, this year, it is moving north to the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, bringing a new venue and a fresh atmosphere to the event.
Two of the top American tennis players in the world, Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, will be competing. Fritz holds the top rank among American players and finished as the runner-up in the 2024 U.S. Open. Tiafoe, on the other hand, is ranked third among Americans and reached the quarterfinals at the 2024 U.S. Open.
They will join 2024 Dallas Open Champion Tommy Paul and Casper Ruud in the 2025 Dallas Open, adding to the star power of the event.
On top of the current competitors, some International Tennis Hall of Fame inductees will be taking to the court. Kim Clijsters and Martina Hingis will play in the Dallas Open’s annual Women’s Tennis Classic. They will face off in a three-set singles match on Feb. 1 at 8 p.m.
Clijsters is a four-time Grand Slam champion, while Hingis is a five-time Grand Slam champion and a silver Olympic medalist. The two have played nine singles matches against each other, with Clijsters winning five. Their most recent head-to-head match was a 2007 Australian Open quarterfinal won by Clijsters in three sets.
