Uncover the UCLA Basketball Teams' Road Challenges
The Men's Basketball Team's Road Trip
The UCLA men's basketball team started conference play on the right foot with a convincing 69 - 58 win over the Huskies earlier this week. However, this weekend they face a tougher test as the No. 12 Oregon Ducks will be hosting them. Both teams enter Big Ten play with a 1 - 0 record. The Ducks showcased their dominance by defeating the Bruins' bitter rival, USC, by eight points on Wednesday night. Led by their 7 - 0, 220 - pound senior center Nate Bittle, who leads the team in points (13.6), rebounds (9), and blocks (2) per game, the Ducks are a force to be reckoned with. Alongside Bittle, senior guards TJ Bamba and Keeshawn Barthelemy bring valuable veteran experience. Both guys are averaging double - digits in scoring and have been crucial in limiting the Bruins. Barthelemy also leads the Ducks in steals per game with two.The Women's Basketball Team's Conference Debut
The women's team is opening conference play with their second consecutive road game after defeating the Rainbow Warriors by 21 points in Hawaii. Now, they will face the Huskies in Seattle in their first road conference game in program history. The Huskies have a record of 7 - 2, with an embarrassing double - digit loss to the Montana Grizzlies but managed to take No. 7 LSU down to the wire in a 68 - 67 loss at a neutral site in the Bahamas. Junior guard Elle Ladine has been the team's best player this season, averaging 14.8 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. She is the team's leading scorer and has scored 10 or more points in eight of the team's nine contests. Sophomore guard Sayvia Sellers has been on fire from downtown, shooting 48.5% from three - point range and averaging 14.8 points per game with a 58.3% field goal percentage. The Bruins need to find a way to limit her from getting open shots.Ensure you follow on X (Twitter) @UCLAInsideronSI and @tcav30 and never miss another breaking news story again. Please let us know your thoughts when you like our Facebook page WHEN YOU CLICK RIGHT HERE.
