In a remarkable achievement, University of Indianapolis junior Tyffaine Pais has been honored as the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. This recognition comes shortly after Pais was ranked 25th in the nation for singles play in the latest ITA Poll released on April 23. Her accomplishments include victories in both singles and doubles matches against formidable opponents from Missouri-St. Louis and Maryville, enhancing her season record.
Pais, hailing from Mattrelos, France, and majoring in Business Management, has demonstrated exceptional skill on the court. Over the weekend, she achieved significant victories at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions. Notably, she defeated Hannah Tse, the 41st-ranked player from UMSL, and Victoria Lisson from Maryville in singles matches. These wins have boosted her season record to an impressive 4-0 in singles play.
Furthermore, Pais teamed up with Sofia Cardenas to secure doubles victories over UMSL and Maryville pairs, improving their overall record to 5-2 for the year. This is the first time in her collegiate career that Pais has earned the Player of the Week Award, marking a significant milestone in her athletic journey.
