BALTIMORE — UMBC head Baseball coach Liam Bowen made a significant announcement on Thursday morning. The Retrievers, having just participated in the America East Championship game, are set to play 30 contests at the familiar Alumni Field.
Florida Tour and Early Contests
The season kicks off in Florida the weekend of February 21. UMBC will be part of a tournament hosted by Stetson. On Friday night, they face the host Hatters. Then, on Saturday, they take on Notre Dame, and on Sunday morning, it's Iowa. This early stretch gives the team a taste of different opponents and competitive atmospheres.After this, a midweek trip to crosstown rival Towson on Wednesday, February 26, adds another layer of excitement. When the Dawgs host UMass Lowell the following weekend, America East play officially begins.
