The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) has once again showcased the exceptional talent and sportsmanship of its high school tennis players. From the Liberty, National, Freedom, Independence, Colonial, and American divisions, these young athletes have demonstrated their skill, dedication, and commitment to the sport. Their achievements are a testament to the thriving tennis community in the region and the promising future of the sport.
Honoring the Best of the Best in NJAC Tennis
NJAC-Liberty: Hanover Park Dominates, Morristown Beard Shines
Hanover Park has firmly established its dominance in the NJAC-Liberty division, with its players earning a remarkable number of accolades. Junior Audrey Lee claimed the first singles title, while freshman Caroline Oriala and junior Tanvi Daita secured the second and third singles positions, respectively. The Hornets' dynamic duo of Danielle Bulbin and Avani Sohoni took the first doubles crown, and Lily Horowitz and Sydney Kaplan of Morristown Beard earned the second doubles recognition.Morristown Beard also made its mark, with freshman Olivia Minoia earning the first singles spot on the second team and sophomore Gigi Graziano claiming the second singles position. The Crimson Tide's first doubles team of Malia Nugent and Olivia Chang, as well as the second doubles pair of Olivia Parrillo and Alexandra Rezza, also earned second-team honors.Honorable mentions went to several standout players, including Madison's Caroline Bibbee, Kinnelon's Sophie Kempe, and the Haines sisters, Alexandra and Julie, from Kinnelon. Hanover Park's Asia Sohoni and Charlize Zhang, as well as Morristown Beard's Caroline Price and Lily Rubinfeld, were also recognized for their impressive performances.NJAC-National: Parsippany Hills Reigns Supreme
The NJAC-National division was dominated by Parsippany Hills, with senior Taylor Wong claiming the first singles title, sophomore Sahana Singh earning the second singles spot, and sophomore Laura Mosiello taking the third singles position. The Vikings' first doubles team of Lucy Giardi and Ava Olsen, as well as the second doubles duo of Amy Myerson and Riyana Chaudhary, rounded out the first-team selections.Randolph's Ava Pinto, West Morris' Aarah Patel and Megan Park, and the first and second doubles teams from Mount Olive all earned second-team honors, showcasing the depth of talent in the division.Honorable mentions went to several standout players, including Shannon Christal and Abigail Hsu from Morris Knolls, Bella McHugh and Ella Desjardins from Roxbury, and the Talluri sisters, Harini and Hasini, from Parsippany Hills. Randolph's Noelle Thompson, West Morris' Lia Nowak, and Mount Olive's Pritisha Panda were also recognized for their impressive performances.NJAC-Freedom: Lenape Valley Emerges Victorious
In the NJAC-Freedom division, Lenape Valley emerged as the champion, with several of its players earning top honors. Freshman Kyle Gallagher claimed the third singles title, while the first doubles team of Kendra Smith and Paige Henriksen and the second doubles duo of Sierra Wagner and Karina Czerhoniak also earned first-team recognition. Senior Regina Williams of Lenape Valley was named the first singles champion.Kittatinny's Josie Nuzzo and Paige DeCaro, as well as Vernon's Samantha Werner and the first and second doubles teams, earned second-team accolades. Honorable mentions went to Juliette Miller of Vernon, Lillian Hanlon of Kittatinny, Bailey Van Dyke of Lenape Valley, and Julia Moskal of High Point.NJAC-Independence: Whippany Park and St. Elizabeth Share the Spotlight
The NJAC-Independence division saw a shared championship between Whippany Park and St. Elizabeth. Whippany Park's Audrey Rha, Amanda Wickenheisser, and Audrey Lee claimed the first, second, and third singles titles, respectively, while the first doubles team of Anna Koch and Ashi Shah and the second doubles duo of Lily Ferguson and Sophia Berrios from St. Elizabeth also earned first-team honors.St. Elizabeth's Kiera Killion, Morgan Artiglere, and Madeleine Soliman earned second-team recognition in the first, second, and third singles positions, respectively. The Whippany Park second doubles team of Audrey Kuo and Caitlin Eng also made the second team.Honorable mentions went to several players, including Leah Hunt and Sam Rocciola from Pequannock, Mikaela Angelina Caldron, Mia Kaplan, and Alicia Rodriguez from Boonton, and Shrujana Praveen and Trinity Johnson from Parsippany.NJAC-Colonial: Newton Reigns Supreme
The NJAC-Colonial division was dominated by Newton, with senior Michaela Schlesner and Kirsten Ehrnberg earning the second and third singles titles, respectively. The Braves' first doubles team of Sinead Kerrick and Duncan Henriquez also claimed the top spot, while the second doubles duo of Bridget Esposito and Leah Quinones from Sussex Tech rounded out the first-team selections.Newton's Samantha Sutton, Sussex Tech's Nina Lin and Danielle Martin Conors, and the first doubles teams from Sussex Tech and Wallkill Valley earned second-team honors.Honorable mentions went to Megan Hinczynski and Sadie Hester from Hopatcong, Claire Hornak from Wallkill Valley, and Halle Schuele and Olivia Pasquale from Newton.NJAC-American: Chatham Shines Bright
In the NJAC-American division, Chatham emerged as the champion, with several of its players earning top honors. Senior Jin Zhang claimed the third singles title, while the first doubles team of Michelle Moran and Mary Zhang and the second doubles duo of Eden Heitlinger and Kelly Nie also earned first-team recognition. Freshman Joyce Zhang of Chatham was named the first singles champion.Mendham's Sofia Cicarone, Maya Gieszcyznski, and Maya Vinu, as well as the first doubles team of Eva Skibinsky and Abby Broder from Montville, earned second-team accolades.Honorable mentions went to Tarini Daita from Morris Hills, Saloni Panchamia from Morris Hills, Emily Dondero from Sparta, Sukanya Vasudevan from Morristown, Kaitlyn Rostiac and Anneliese Scala from Mendham, Morgan Soehnlein from Montville, Aileen McEnroe from Chatham, and Brigid Kelly from Chatham.
