Discover the Origins of Racing Enthusiasm

Dr. Barry Eisaman: A Lifelong Affair with Horses

Barry Eisaman has been immersed in the horse world since birth. It all started with a simple love for horses in general. During his teenage years and earlier, he began working around racehorses, and this love quickly extended to horse racing.Over the years, he continuously witnessed the toughness and fragility of these magnificent creatures. His work in breaking and preparing young horses for the races and rehabilitation has reinforced his admiration. Every time a young or rehab horse goes on to achieve great things, it reaffirms his belief in the sport. His exposure to horses through veterinary school and practice at racetracks in Miami and later in the Ocala area further deepened his connection.Running Eiseman Equine with his wife Shari, they have over 200 horses on campus. The growth of their equine enterprise is a testament to their passion.

Nick Tammaro: Captured by the Racing Scene

Nick Tammaro's journey began when he was old enough to accompany his father on day trips to neighboring racetracks. The first time they entered Fair Grounds in the Dallas area, he was instantly captivated by the entire scene - the paddock, the box, the running horses, and most importantly, the Daily Racing Form. From that moment, he begged his father to buy him the DRF whenever possible. He immersed himself in reading and handicapping, asking countless questions of veteran horseplayers at Trinity Meadows. This early start laid the foundation for his successful career as a handicapper.Racing has become a lifelong passion for him, and he firmly believes it is the greatest game in the world. To share your own story of getting hooked on racing, email suefinley@thetdn.com.
