The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's tennis team is closing its fall season with a strong showing at the prestigious Rice Invitational. The team is set to compete against some of the top programs in the country, including Baylor, Houston, Iowa State, LSU, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UT Arlington, and UTSA, as well as the hosting Rice Owls.

Doubles Dominance
The Vaqueros will be fielding a formidable doubles lineup, with three pairs set to compete in the tournament. Yaiza Vazquez and Madeleine Joffe will take on Baylor's Nanaka Sato and Brooke Thompson, as well as the Iowa State duo of Ashlee Narker and Gabriela Felix da Silva or the Houston pair of Valeriia Krokhotina and Gabriela Cortez. In the Flight 3 doubles round-robin, Valentina Urraco and Hitakamya Narwal will face off against UT Arlington's Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Maria Araoz-Gosn, while Mariia Bakhtina and Rhea Makesar will compete against UTSA's Valeria Sanchez and Aoka Nagasawa, as well as the Rice duo of Valentina Ponce Serrano and Anushka Ashar.The Vaqueros' doubles pairings have been honing their skills throughout the fall season, and they are poised to showcase their teamwork and chemistry on the court.
