Washington High School Basketball Rankings Unveiled for 2024-25 Season

In early January, SBLive released its first set of rankings for Washington high school boys basketball teams for the 2024-25 season. The rankings cover various classes from 4A to 1B, providing a comprehensive overview of team performance based on a unique algorithm inspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking Method. Edmonds-Woodway stands out with an undefeated record of 12-0 and a rating of 1.346, demonstrating their exceptional performance so far this season.

Moving down to the 2A class, Selah takes the lead with a 9-2 record and a rating of 1.275. Lynden (11-0) and Anacortes (7-1) follow with ratings of 1.253 and 1.223 respectively. Sequim and West Valley of Spokane also perform well, holding ratings of 1.168 and 1.120 respectively. These teams exemplify the competitive nature of the 2A division, with several schools vying for top positions.

In the 1A class, Lynden Christian leads with a 10-1 record and a rating of 1.366. Annie Wright (11-1) and Royal (9-0) follow closely with ratings of 1.221 and 1.206 respectively. Chelan (9-1) and Seton Catholic (4-5) round out the top five with ratings of 1.131 and 1.006. Despite varied records, these teams showcase the depth and competitiveness within the 1A classification.

In the smaller classifications, Columbia of Burbank leads the 2B class, setting the pace for other teams. Meanwhile, Columbia Academy dominates the 1B class, establishing itself as a formidable force.
