No. 5 Spanish Delight, the morning-line favorite at even odds, is expected to dominate this group if she replicates her recent form. Samy Camacho's ride only adds to our confidence. No. 4 Delta Charm, priced at 5-1, has won her previous two dirt races before a setback last time. Her recent workout here shows promise. No. 2 Singsational, at 6-1, can also be a factor based on her sharp performance two weeks ago.
If we have a $100 budget, here's how we'd bet: $15 exacta 5/4 and $5 exacta 5/2. Spanish Delight seems to have the edge with her consistent performances.
No. 4 Catalina Express comes into this race with some inconsistent performances, but the downs have been on surfaces other than fast dirt. When we look at his "ups" and his 9:1-1-4 record on the dirt surface he'll be racing on, he becomes a live contender. No. 2 Midnight Onyx has shown to be a bit of a middle-ground runner based on his six-furlong and route tries. There's a good chance that the seven panels will suit him perfectly. No. 3 Sincerito has had stamina issues in the past, but with a 10-pound weight break and Yolber Torres in the saddle, he could surprise.
Our betting plan: $2 exacta box 2/3/4, $3 exacta 4/2,3. Catalina Express has the potential to shine on this track.
No. 4 God's Timing, the 9-5 morning-line favorite, might have had a rough start against winners at the gate, but his debut was impressive. The stretchout is a concern, but Saffie Joseph Jr. has entrusted Samy Camacho to ride him. No. 2 Greyzer ran fast races at Delaware over the summer and is a three-time winner here. No. 3 Conspiracy Fact was a solid 6:2-3-0 at Tampa last season and carried that form to Delaware with a win and a second before a disappointing effort last time. There's a chance for a bounce back.
For this race, our bet is a $3 trifecta box 2/3/4. God's Timing has the talent to turn things around.
No. 4 Brookmesa and No. 5 Yellow Feathers both exited an ungraded stakes at Laurel without a win. Both are multiple dirt winners and are working well ahead of their returns. However, No. 4 Brookmesa gets the slight edge at better odds with Samy Camacho in the saddle. No. 1 Adios Babe looked good in her last two races under Victor Barboza's care. Now, Juan Avila takes over the training, but this is a step up in class.
Our betting choices: $8 exacta 4/5, $4 exacta 4/1, $4 exacta 5/4, and $4 exacta 5/1. Brookmesa and Yellow Feathers are both worth considering.
The nightcap features No. 11 Rose View, the 5-2 morning-line favorite, who is clearly superior on paper and in class compared to the others. She's shipping in from Gulfstream. Her biggest challenge is being on the also-eligible list. Assuming she runs, she's our key pick over No. 2 Rozay Summer, No. 4 Little Martha at 6-1, and No. 5 Compass Rises at 4-1. Rozay Summer brings respectable synthetic form from Presque Isle. Little Martha stretches out and adds Lasix after a win at Presque Isle for Ron Potts. Compass Rises has a 1-for-15 lifetime record but could make a late move with a clean trip.
If No. 11 runs, our bet is $8 exacta 11/2,4,5. If she scratches, we'll go with a $4 exacta box 2/4/5. Rose View is the one to watch.
