As the fall season came to a close, the Northwestern women's tennis team had one final chance to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Graduate student Britany Lau and freshman Mika Dagan Fruchtman represented the Wildcats at the ITA Central Sectional Championship, determined to make the most of their opportunity.

Lau's Singles Campaign Ends in Narrow Defeat
Lau, the veteran of the duo, entered the tournament with high hopes of securing an individual NCAA Tournament berth through her singles performance. She started strong, defeating Iowa's Marisa Schmidt 6-3, 6-1 in the opening round. While Lau's singles campaign came to a close, she and Dagan Fruchtman teamed up for a strong doubles performance. The duo had reached the semifinals of the ITA Midwest Regional Championship just a month prior, and they were determined to build on that success.In the opening round, Lau and Dagan Fruchtman faced off against conference rivals from Michigan, Piper Charney and Emily Sartz-Lunde, and emerged victorious with a 6-3, 3-6, [10-6] triumph.
