In a remarkable achievement, Sofia Blanco, a senior on the WKU Women's Tennis team, has been honored with a place on the 2025 Conference USA Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team. This marks her third consecutive year receiving this prestigious accolade, making her the sole three-time recipient in program history. Known not only for her athletic prowess but also for her academic excellence, Blanco balances her career as a Business Data Analytics major with an impressive GPA of 3.91. Her contributions to the sport include numerous records and achievements, both individually and as part of the Lady Toppers team.

Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Blanco has consistently excelled throughout her tenure at Western Kentucky University. Recognized for her outstanding academic performance, she holds multiple honors, including being a four-time CUSA Academic Medal recipient and a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection.

Blanco's athletic accomplishments are equally noteworthy. She boasts an unparalleled record in singles and doubles matches, amassing a total of 108 victories over her career, setting a new standard within the program. Her current season statistics reflect her continued dominance, with 14-8 in doubles alongside teammate Rachel Hermanova and 16-6 in singles. Notably, she ranks second in the program’s career singles wins list and shares the same position in doubles wins.

This season culminates with the Lady Toppers heading to Lynchburg, Virginia, for the 2025 Conference USA Women’s Tennis Championship, set to take place from April 16 to 19 at the Liberty Tennis Complex.
