Welcome to #WOLVESTALK, an exclusive SweetwaterNOW series that showcases the remarkable stories of the Green River High School Wolves. These young athletes inspire our community with their passion and determination. I'm Dawson Peterson, a 17-year-old senior at Green River High School. In addition to my love for basketball, I'm involved in various sports and activities like baseball, National Honor Society, and Cyber Swat. Basketball holds a special place in my heart as it has been my favorite sport since third grade when I started playing on a traveling team. I played on the Green River Wolfpack from third to eighth grade, creating lasting friendships and playing with many of my current teammates. My dad was my coach for years, and his tough love has taught me invaluable lessons both on and off the court. I'll always cherish the memories of working with him. I'd like to express my gratitude to all the coaches I've had along the way. From my dad Steve Lake to Jessica Demaret, Tim Cassity, Travis Archibald, Josh Lewis, Lennon Spence, and Laurie Ivie, these amazing men and women have taught me so much. A special mention goes to my mom, who has been my biggest fan and supported me in everything I do. My brother Jax and sister Brielle are also very close to me, and we have a wonderful golden retriever named Minkah. I'm a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. After high school, I plan to attend Western and pursue a career in electronics, following in my dad's footsteps. Let's go Wolves! This is an exciting final season, and I'm looking forward to making great memories with my teammates. Basketball has taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, and I'm grateful for the opportunities it has given me. Join us as we celebrate the Green River High School Wolves and their amazing journey.

Uncover the Tales of the Green River High School Basketball Stars

Basketball: A Lifelong Passion

Basketball has been the cornerstone of my life since I was a young child. It started in third grade when I joined a traveling team and continued through my time on the Green River Wolfpack. The friendships I made during those years are truly special, and many of my current teammates were part of that journey. Playing basketball has not only taught me the skills needed on the court but also the values of hard work, determination, and sportsmanship. It has been a source of joy and inspiration throughout my life.

My dad's role as my coach was crucial in shaping my love for the game. His tough love pushed me to be better and taught me the importance of discipline. Even now, I carry those lessons with me and apply them in all aspects of my life. The memories of working with him on and off the court will always be cherished.

Support System: Family and Friends

Outside of basketball, my family means everything to me. My big brother Jax and little sister Brielle are my closest companions, and we share many wonderful memories together. Our golden retriever Minkah adds to the joy of our family life. They have always been there to support me in my endeavors, whether it's on the basketball court or in my personal life.

My friends also play a significant role in my life. Hanging out with them and my girlfriend Natasha is one of my favorite things to do. They provide me with the support and encouragement I need to pursue my dreams. I'm grateful for their presence in my life and the positive impact they have had on me.

Coaches: Guiding Lights

I have been fortunate to be coached by some truly exceptional individuals. From my dad to Steve Lake, Jessica Demaret, Tim Cassity, Travis Archibald, Josh Lewis, Lennon Spence, and Laurie Ivie, each coach has brought something unique to my basketball journey. They have taught me not only the technical aspects of the game but also the importance of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

My mom has been my biggest fan, always cheering me on from the sidelines. Her support has given me the confidence to pursue my goals and overcome challenges. I'm grateful for her unwavering belief in me. My brother has also worked with me, helping me improve my skills and become a better player. His guidance has been invaluable.

All of my past teammates have supported me and taught me so much. Their friendship and camaraderie have made the basketball experience even more enjoyable. And to my current teammates, we are a team united by our love for basketball. Let's go out this year and make this a season to remember!
