Arizona State Football: USC Receiver Duce Robinson on Official Visit
2024-12-15
Former USC wide receiver Duce Robinson, a Pinnacle High three-sport athlete, has made a significant move by visiting Arizona State football. According to multiple reports, he entered the transfer portal on Tuesday and was even seen having dinner with ASU staff members during his official visit on Friday night. Robinson, a sophomore, holds a prominent position in the transfer portal, being ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver and the No. 2 overall player by 247Sports.

Robinson's Multi-Sport Stardom

At Pinnacle High, Robinson wasn't just a football star; he also shined in baseball and basketball. Last season, he played baseball for USC as an outfielder. On the football field, in just two seasons, he has played 23 games, catching 39 passes for 747 yards and recording seven touchdown catches. He also had an interception this season and a blocked punt last season. His senior year at Pinnacle (2022) was particularly impressive, as he grabbed 84 receptions for 1,614 receiving yards and 14 touchdown receptions.

Positioning at ASU

If Robinson were to join ASU, he would likely slot in as one of the Sun Devils' top two wide receivers, along with this season's leader Jordyn Tyson. Tyson had an outstanding season, posting 1,101 receiving yards with 10 touchdown catches. Robinson's size and skills make him a valuable addition to the team. Standing at 6-6 and weighing 220 pounds, he brings a physical presence to the field.

Transfer Details and Eligibility

Robinson is a four-star transfer with two more years of eligibility. This gives ASU a significant boost in their wide receiver corps. It remains to be seen if he will continue his baseball career at ASU. During his time with the Trojans' baseball program in 2024, he recorded a.167/.167/.333 slash line in four games (two starts).

ASU's Transfer and Recruiting Situation

ASU is yet to land a transfer in the 2025 cycle so far and has 11 outgoing transfers, including three wide receivers. However, their high school recruiting class ranked 48th in the nation. Robinson's addition could potentially enhance their recruiting efforts and strengthen the team.
