Bellarmine University Women's Tennis 2025 Schedule Announced
2024-12-12
Head coach Brian Slack has just revealed the 2025 portion of the Bellarmine University women's tennis schedule. In their fifth season of Division I competition and first as full members eligible for the NCAA tournament, the Knights are gearing up for another tough campaign with a 23-match regular season schedule, which is four matches fewer than the previous two seasons. The Knights will host 11 opponents at the Eddie Weber Tennis complex and face 11 on the road, with one neutral site matchup and one doubleheader.

Coach's Perspective

"Our team is excited to kick off this spring and begin the season," said Coach Slack. "Our schedule is indeed challenging, as we will face three teams that finished in the top 35 last year and six more against teams that were in the top 75 at some point last season. We are ready to give our best and compete at a high level."

Road Trip at the Start

The Knights will kick off their season with a long road trip, playing six consecutive matches away from home. They will begin on January 16th at Ohio State, followed by contests against Mississippi State and Samford at Mississippi State on January 18th. Then, they will face Elon on January 24th, Marshall on January 26th, and finally Vanderbilt on January 31st. This will be a tough test for the team as they adjust to the early-season travel and competition.

It will be a great opportunity for the players to gain experience and build team chemistry on the road. They will face different opponents and playing styles, which will help them prepare for the rest of the season.

Home Debut and Back on the Road

The Knights will make their home debut with three straight matches at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex. They will welcome University of the Cumberlands and Marian University on February 1st and Oakland City on February 7th. This will be a chance for the home crowd to support the team and see them in action.

After that, the Knights will hit the road again on February 9th for a doubleheader at Notre Dame. This break will give them some time to rest and prepare for the next set of matches. They will then be back on the court on February 21st at home against Murray State.

ASUN Conference Slate

Bellarmine will begin its ASUN conference slate with three road matches. They will start with Stetson on March 1st, followed by North Florida on March 4th and FGCU on March 6th. This will be a crucial part of the season as they face conference opponents and start to build their standing in the league.

After that, the Knights will return home for the remainder of the month of March and host seven straight home matches. This homestand will give them a chance to play in front of their fans and gain some momentum. They will host UT Chattanooga on March 9th and UAB on March 11th. Then, on March 14th, they will resume conference play and host their first ASUN foe of the season in Lipscomb. They will also face North Alabama on March 16th, Queens on March 28th, Eastern Kentucky on March 30th, and Austin Peay on April 2nd.

Closing the Regular Season

Bellarmine will close out its regular season with one final match on the road, traveling to Central Arkansas on April 4th. This will be a challenging end to the regular season as they face a tough opponent away from home.

Overall, the 2025 Bellarmine University women's tennis schedule is filled with exciting matchups and challenges. The team is ready to take on the season and make a name for themselves in Division I tennis.

Tournament Details

The ASUN Conference Tournament will be held from April 17th to 19th in Jacksonville, Fl. This will be a crucial event for the Knights as they look to advance in the tournament and qualify for the NCAA tournament.
