Following a successful hat ceremony at the Alamodome in San Antonio, California’s standout athlete McKay Madsen revealed his decision to join the Cougars. This marks the second consecutive year that BYU has secured a commitment during the prestigious All-American Bowl event.

Madsen, a versatile four-star prospect from Clovis North High School, chose BYU over other notable programs like Oregon and UCLA. Despite recent predictions suggesting he might lean towards Oregon, Madsen ultimately decided on BYU, where he could potentially play as both a linebacker and a running back. His impressive senior year stats include 49 tackles, four interceptions, and an astounding 1,238 rushing yards with 19 touchdowns. Additionally, Madsen contributed two receiving touchdowns to his team’s offensive efforts.
