The fall season began on Sept. 5 and concluded on Oct. 6, during which the team achieved a remarkable 6-2 record. Facing North Georgia, NC State, and Virginia Tech, the Clemson club baseball team demonstrated its mettle and emerged with only two losses. Colangelo recalled the challenges they faced against Virginia Tech, stating that it was a good team that put a lot of pressure on defense and catchers. However, the Tigers competed well and won two out of the three games.
This season was not just about wins and losses; it was about building a strong team. With 25 eager players, the club aims to provide a platform for collegiate-level competition while having fun. As Colangelo said in an interview with The Tiger, it was memorable, exciting, and promising. The younger class showed great potential, and the returners added to the team's strength, setting the stage for future success.
Determined to have a victorious spring season, the Clemson club baseball team has already laid a promising foundation with the fall season. With daily practices starting in January and between 25 and 30 games throughout the semester, the Tigers are gearing up for another intense campaign. The organization is self-funded, with a portion allocated by the Student Funding Board. As a result, all players must pay dues and participate in fundraising events to support the team.
Students interested in joining the team can get more information through the team's Instagram, @clemsonclubbaseball, or on TigerQuest. The team typically holds fall tryouts, and on a case-by-case basis, there are also spring tryouts. This provides opportunities for aspiring players to get on the field and be a part of the Clemson club baseball family.
