A thrilling showdown unfolded on Monday as the Colorado College women’s tennis team faced off against the formidable 22nd-ranked University of Redlands in California. The match began with the Tigers securing an early advantage by claiming victories in the first and third doubles matches. This set the stage for a competitive encounter that showcased the skill and determination of both teams.

In singles play, the Tigers demonstrated their resilience and talent. Kala Komanduri and Aspen Young continued their impressive streaks, each securing wins in consecutive matches. Komanduri triumphed over Deja Brown with scores of 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 position, while Young maintained her undefeated record in dual matches by defeating Christina O’Brien 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot. However, other singles matches proved challenging, including Lucia Moravek’s tough battle at No. 4 and Lindsay Popeo’s three-set encounter at No. 6, both ultimately falling to their opponents.

The Colorado College women’s tennis team will look to build on this experience as they prepare for their next challenge. On Tuesday morning, they are set to take on the highly ranked 10th-place Amherst College in what promises to be another intense competition.
