Navigating the Fantasy Football Panic Waters

Cooper Kupp (WR – LAR) | Panic Meter: 0

In the first week of the fantasy playoffs, many stars shone brightly, but none more so than Cooper Kupp (sarcasm intended). It was indeed a rare occurrence as Kupp was held without a catch for the first time since Week 10 of 2019. However, this should be seen as just an anomaly. Before this week, Kupp was averaging a healthy 18.4 fantasy points per game. If you managed to survive his Week 15 disaster, there's no need to panic. Lock him in for week two of the playoffs and trust in his consistent performance.

His track record speaks for itself, and with his talent and ability, he is likely to bounce back in the coming weeks. Don't let this one setback derail your fantasy football plans.

Brock Bowers (TE – LV) | Panic Meter: 1.5

In Week 15, Brock Bowers had a less-than-stellar performance, scoring just 6.5 PPR points. While this is cause for some concern, it doesn't mean it's time to panic. Bowers has shown too much this season to simply bench him.

Finding a reliable replacement on the waiver wire is no easy task, as it's difficult to find someone who is likely to catch more than two passes per game. At this point, the best course of action is to maintain the current course and hope for better performances in the future.

Derrick Henry (RB – BAL) | Panic Meter: 2

Derrick Henry had a tough week in Week 15, delivering a season-low 6.7 PPR points. With minimal receiving usage and no touchdowns in his last three games, his recent play has become a cause for concern.

He hasn't cracked 15 PPR points since Week 9, and in the next three weeks, he plays against Cleveland (Week 18) and Pittsburgh (Week 16), both teams that have already held him below 15 points this season. Panic may be setting in, but you don't have many options. You need to start him and hope for the best, as hope seems to be in short supply lately.

Breece Hall (RB – NYJ) | Panic Meter: 2

Breece Hall managed to score 13.1 PPR points in Week 15, but it wasn't a standout performance. Without a late touchdown to save the day, the situation would be more serious.

In his last six games, he has eclipsed 13.2 PPR points just once, and in the last two games, he has had fewer than 13 touches. On top of that, he is dealing with an apparent knee injury. Despite this, unless you have deep depth at the running back position, you still need to play him. Keep an eye on his progress and be prepared to explore your options if needed.

Kyler Murray (QB – ARI) | Panic Meter: 3

Kyler Murray had a disappointing Week 15, scoring only 10.06 fantasy points. This comes as no surprise to his managers, as he has scored fewer than 20 points in four consecutive weeks and is averaging a pedestrian 13.3 PPG during this span.

At this point in the season, the risk may outweigh the reward. Murray has scored fewer than 16 points in nine out of 15 games this season. If you've made it this far, it's likely that Murray hasn't been a significant contributor. He is more of a desperate streamer at best.
