Football Coach Pleads Not Guilty for Sex with 15-Year-Old Student
2024-12-18
A 45-year-old high school football coach found himself at the center of a legal storm when he was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl. This incident has raised serious questions about the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions. On Wednesday, he pleaded not guilty in court, and his case is set to go to trial in July.

Key Details and Charges

Antwone Washington, a football coach and campus security officer at Valley High School, was indicted on Thursday. He faces charges including kidnapping, use of a minor in producing pornography, and statutory sexual seduction. The details of the case are shocking and have drawn significant attention.

Initial Contact and Conversation

Washington approached the 14-year-old girl earlier this year with the intention of recruiting her boyfriend to play football. Their initial conversations were about school-related matters and the girl's emotions. However, things took a turn when they started exchanging Snapchats, and the conversations became inappropriate.

This innocent interaction soon evolved into a more serious situation. The student's testimony in front of the grand jury revealed the disturbing nature of their conversations and how they progressed over time. It is a clear example of how a seemingly harmless situation can quickly spiral out of control.

Sexual Encounters and Evidence

The student was attending summer school when Washington had sex with her in his office for the first time. As the prosecutor's questions revealed, the number of sexual encounters was numerous, and the details were disturbing.

When the student was stopped by police at around 3 a.m. one early September morning, she gave them her cellphone. Detective Tabatha Dionisio analyzed the content on the phone and located the Snapchat conversation, which was sexual in nature and mentioned meeting during school hours. Additionally, four sexually explicit videos of Washington and the student were found.

Washington's Statements and Actions

When interviewed by Dionisio, Washington admitted to having sex with the student and videotaping it. He claimed to have believed her to be 16, but the evidence presented clearly shows the truth. He also admitted to bringing the student to the apartment of one of his girlfriends for further sexual encounters.

His actions and statements raise serious concerns about his judgment and moral compass. As a coach and campus security officer, he was supposed to protect the students, not engage in such inappropriate behavior.
