The Wolverines started the game with high hopes but faced a setback early on. Hebron Christian's junior wide receiver Devon Caldwell kicked off the scoring with a 40-yard sprint, setting the tone for the Lions' revenge. However, PACS sophomore quarterback Ben Musser responded immediately with an 80-yard dash, bringing the Wolverines back into the game. But Hebron Christian took the lead with a touchdown in the first quarter and continued to dominate.
Hebron Christian's senior quarterback Thomas Stallworth was a key player, completing 9 out of 15 attempts for 172 yards and rushing 20 times for 84 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Lions' offense was in full swing, and Caldwell scored again to make it 35-7 just before halftime. Prince Avenue Christian finally found their footing in the second half but couldn't overcome the deficit.
Devon Caldwell was a standout for Hebron Christian, finishing the game with 18 touches for 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. Thomas Stallworth's performance was crucial in leading the Lions to victory. On the Prince Avenue Christian side, Ben Musser had an impressive game, completing 15 out of 23 attempts for 159 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception, and rushing 13 times for 176 yards and 3 touchdowns. However, their best player, sophomore running back Andrew Beard, was injured in the first half and couldn't continue playing.
Hudson Hill also made an impact for Prince Avenue Christian, setting up a touchdown with a 54-yard gain. The Wolverines fought hard but couldn't overcome the strong performance of Hebron Christian.
Prince Avenue Christian ended their season with a record of 10-4. They played a tough schedule, including games against the number one team from South Carolina and the number four team from North Carolina. This prepared them for the tough games in the state championships, but the absence of their best player proved to be a significant challenge. Despite the loss, the Wolverines' unbeatable spirit was on full display throughout the season.
