Workout at Santa Anita

Two-time graded stakes winner Kinza, who has been unraced since April, put in a remarkable five-furlong workout at Santa Anita on Friday morning. She completed the distance in 1:00.0, emerging as the second fastest at that distance at the California track. This Carpe Diem filly had an outstanding debut last year in December and went on to win two Grade 3 races back-to-back at Santa Anita - the Las Virgenes and Santa Ysbel to kick off 2024. Since finishing second in the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) in April, Kinza has been training on and off and has been regularly worked since September. Her previous workout was eight days ago over the same five-furlong distance at Santa Anita.Another aspect to note is that Kinza is one of eight graded-stakes winners who worked on Friday. Workout at Palm Meadows

Can Group (Good Samaritan), a Grade 2 winner in 2023 with the Bourbon title, worked four furlongs on turf at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. It took him 48.7 seconds, ranking 13th out of 44 works at the distance. His previous workout was nine days ago over four furlongs at Palm Meadows. In his last race, he placed ninth in the Audubon over 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Churchill Downs on June 1, trained by Mark Casse.Mystic Lake (Mo Town), a Grade 2 winner in 2024 with the Charles Town Oaks title, also worked four furlongs at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. Completing the distance in 48.6 seconds, it was the 18th fastest among 41 works at the same distance. Her previous workout was seven days ago over five furlongs at Palm Meadows. In her last start, she finished fourth in the Cotillion (G1) over 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Parx Racing on Sept. 21, trained by Saffie Joseph Jr.

Boppy O (Bolt d’Oro), a Grade 3 winner in 2022 with the With Anticipation title, worked four furlongs on turf at Palm Meadows on Friday morning. Taking 48.7 seconds, it was the 13th fastest of 44 works at the distance. This was his first workout since his last race. In his last start, he placed second in an allowance race over one mile and 70 yards on the synthetic at Gulfstream Park on Nov. 24, trained by Mark Casse.Kopion (Omaha Beach), a Grade 3 winner in 2024 with the Santa Ynez title, worked six furlongs at Santa Anita on Friday morning. Completing the distance in 1:13.2, it was the only work at that distance. Her previous workout was seven days ago over four furlongs at Del Mar. In her last start, she placed fourth in the Santa Anita Oaks (G2) over 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on April 6, trained by Richard Mandella.Ocean Club (Curlin), a Grade 3 winner in 2024 with the Noble Damsel title, worked four furlongs on turf at Palm Meadows on Friday morning.
