Football's Embarrassment and Its Impact

WSU football's recent string of poor performances has been a cause for concern. It seems that the lack of compensation and the team's gross incompetence have taken a toll on motivation during the weekend. This has left fans like us wondering when the team will turn things around.

However, it's not all doom and gloom. The basketball team, despite being undermanned, has shown great determination and has put together some impressive streaks. Their ability to overcome adversity is truly inspiring.

Basketball Team's Resilience and Highlights

The basketball team's performance against Missouri State was a sight to behold. In the first half, they struggled but then came back strong. Erikstrup's layup and Calmese's inbounds pass and fadeaway shot gave them a three-point lead that they never looked back from.

The Watts Brothers had an outstanding game, with Isaiah and Dane Erikstrup pacing the Cougs with 20 points each. LeJuan Watts was also impressive, going 7/7 from the field and contributing 17 points of his own. The team's torrid shooting in the second half was reminiscent of NBA Jam circa 1994.

Game Analysis and Areas for Improvement

While the team had many great moments, there were also areas that need attention. In the first half, their foul shooting and three-point defense were not up to par. Defensive rotations were a beat or two slow, leading to open looks for the opponent. These are areas that the team must clean up if they want to continue their success.

Despite these challenges, the basketball team's resilience and determination are evident. They are overcoming a deck that has often been stacked against them this season, and it's refreshing to see.

Family Life and Related Moments

While following the sports, we also had some family-related adventures. The high schooler made it to the next round of the foreign language study program competition and needed to get a new passport. We had a semi-fire drill at CVS, shuffling between the front desk and pharmacy to get passport photos and flu shots.

The kids' college football fandom is a journey in itself. The youngest, a die-hard Texas fan, had some interesting conversations about college football rivalries. And with Team Kendall now having three licensed drivers, things have become more convenient.

There were also the football and Junior ROTC awards ceremonies. The oldest was recognized as a letter-winner in football, but the long-winded assistant coach and the absence of an open bar were not the highlights.

To top it all off, the youngest had a change of heart about a WSU-related newspaper article over his bed. It's clear that college football fandom is a complex and evolving experience.

Yacht Rock and Family Memories

While Mrs. Kendall was out of town, the author indulged in the Yacht Rock documentary. Michael McDonald and Christopher Cross stole the show, bringing back memories of that era. The youngest's reaction added a touch of humor to the experience.
