Hofstra University Signs Three Baseball Recruits for 2025

Hofstra, NY - In November's signing period, the Hofstra University baseball program welcomed three new recruits. Third baseman Daniel Escalante from Kingston, PA, and pitchers Nick Reese and Aidan Scott from Jefferson Township, PA and Nassau, NY respectively, will join the Pride in September 2025. This addition has excited the coaching staff and fans alike.

Daniel Escalante - Third Baseman

"Escalante plays at Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth, Pennsylvania. In 2023 as a sophomore, he was named the Most Improved Player. Last season, he batted an impressive.323 with 21 RBIs, 20 runs scored, a.468 on-base percentage, and a.467 slugging percentage. His performance on the field showcases his potential and dedication.""His skills and work ethic make him a valuable addition to the Hofstra baseball team. He is known for his strong defensive abilities at third base and his ability to contribute at the plate."

Nick Reese - Pitcher

"Reese attends North Pocono High School in Covington Township, Pennsylvania. Standing at 6-5 as a left-hander, he had an outstanding season last year. He struck out 24 batters in just 17 innings for the Trojans. Giving up only nine hits and holding opponents to a low.150 batting average, his pitching prowess is evident.""He also plays with the Northeast Pride, which further showcases his talent and competitiveness. His ability to dominate on the mound will be a key asset to the Hofstra baseball program."

Aidan Scott - Pitcher

"Scott attends Columbia High School in East Greenbush, New York. A 6-4 right-hander, he was named the Blue devils Rookie of the Year in 2023 as a sophomore. He played a crucial role in helping Columbia to a New York State Championship that season, going 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA.""Last season as a junior, he pitched to a 2.80 ERA. His involvement in track as well as travel baseball with the Northeast Pride demonstrates his well-roundedness and commitment to the sport. His pitching skills and leadership qualities will be an asset to the Hofstra baseball team."
