"Our team has had to earn it. There are some really good teams on that list, and we're proud to be among them. Last week, the Spartans won the title at the Acrisure Classic, defeating previously unbeaten teams in Cal and Vanderbilt. This was a major milestone for the team and a testament to their ability to perform under pressure."Obviously, it's a tremendous honor to be ranked," said Julia Ayrault. "We talked about it recently and about how we have to act like it and treat every day like it's important. We know that and we approach every day with the same mindset, not taking it for granted and keeping working towards getting better."Upcoming Challenges
The next test for the Spartans comes at 2 p.m. Sunday when they host DePaul (3-6). A win in this game will secure the program's best start. After that, they will open Big Ten play at home against No. 20 Iowa on Dec. 15.Grace VanSlooten is looking forward to seeing what else the Spartans can achieve. "I think we're just really excited to see where we can go," she said.The team is focused on building on their success and cementing their place among the nation's top teams.
